Sodexo’s Work with Mitchells & Butlers

Sodexo has worked in partnership with Mitchells & Butlers for the past twelve years, fostering a solid understanding between the two companies.

The partnership actively promotes the development of new and innovative technology, leading to the creation of a bespoke online FM solution which responds to the challenges of Mitchells & Butlers’ business.

The integrated system, Asset Intelligence (Ai), was introduced to help Mitchells & Butlers drive efficiency in the supply chain and its building services team, enabling greater frontline focus.

Previously, the Mitchells & Butlers building services team had been relying upon a number of disparate IT systems that had mostly been designed independently of each other to meet specific short-term business need.

Together, Sodexo and Mitchells & Butlers identified that these business processes were slow and labour intensive and therefore restricting quick access to important building and health and safety information.

The solution came in the form of a technological consolidation project which united data from Mitchells & Butlers’ existing property systems and presented them all in a single configurable point of access – an online portal. The portal constantly updates property data so that it may be presented to property managers.

Data can now be collected by Mitchells & Butlers’ field teams and entered directly into Ai, via a handheld device, removing the need to capture data in hard copy and input it offline, which in turn, allows accurate results to be provided within hours rather than weeks.

The company strategy underpins Sodexo’s account management, enabling the frontline teams to concentrate on the core business whilst retaining cost effective support. As a result of these changes, Mitchells and Butlers achieved an identified ROI of approximately 50% within the first year of the portal project launch.
