Sodexo, the world’s largest services company, has won a five-year contract to provide catering services at Wycombe Abbey.
The contract will begin in January 2015 and is worth some £1.5m in annual turnover, marking a significant step forward for Sodexo’s education business with Wycombe Abbey choosing Sodexo as their first outsourced catering partner in 20 years.
Wycombe Abbey, based in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, is one of the top performing girls’ boarding schools in the UK with pupils aged between 11 and 18.
Sodexo’s catering team will place an emphasis on providing fresh, nutritious, seasonal food at the school using its ‘fresh food from scratch’ concept.
Jeremy Alderton, managing director for Sodexo’s Independent Education business, said: “We are not afraid to say that we set our standards very high, putting considerable emphasis on cooking fresh food from scratch.
We were able to demonstrate our passion for using the very best fresh, nutritious British produce to Wycombe Abbey and we are delighted that they have chosen Independents by Sodexo as their catering partner.”
Rhiannon Wilkinson, Headmistress of Wycombe Abbey, said: “Sodexo has worked with a number of independent schools across the UK for over 50 years and is committed to using healthy cooking practices, the promotion of a balanced diet and use of ingredients which are sustainably and ethically sourced.
We are confident that Sodexo will take Wycombe Abbey to new culinary heights and look forward to a successful, happy and delicious future working in partnership with Sodexo.”
