FIRA will be holding a Specifiers’ Guide Open Day on 26th September to share information on how the Guide can help those specifying furniture for non-domestic and contract markets save time, money and resources.
Specifiers and furniture manufacturers are invited to come along to hear how the free, easy-to-use online portal provides clear, concise and accurate information to support anyone specifying, developing or reviewing tenders for non-domestic and contract furniture.
FIRA will explain how using the FIRA Specifiers’ Guide will help specifiers to:
• reduce costs and time of both developing and reviewing tender documents
• find manufacturers who have the ability to meet your requirements
• find suitable products more efficiently and effectively
• be assured that the products meet the necessary ergonomic, fire safety and performance requirements for their intended use
• have peace of mind that by using the right Standards, furniture is fit-for-purpose
The event is also of interest to manufacturers, as they can learn how to ensure that their products fulfil specifiers’ requirements.
The various certifications and awards accredited by FIRA will be explained at the event, giving delegates an understanding of how products with FIRA Gold Certifications, FIRA Ergonomics Excellence or the FIRA Innovation Award stand out from other products in the marketplace.
With an understanding of the environmental aspects of a furniture product becoming increasingly important, the Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme (FISP) will also be explained, with information shared on how to spot a truly environmentally conscious product.
Delegates are also invited to take a tour of FIRA’s internationally renowned furniture testing centre, enabling visitors to see first-hand how furniture products are tested to ensure they meet industry Standards.
The event will be held on 26th September at FIRA’s head office in Stevenage, Hertfordshire from 10.30am – 2.30pm. The event is open to furniture manufacturers and those selecting non-domestic or contract furniture, such as interior designers, architects, purchasers for public sector projects such as social housing and prisons, specifiers for hospitality, hotels or offices, facility managers, or those working for local authorities purchasing and supply.
