A new survey of over 2,000 UK homeowners has found that more than half have experienced serious problems with indoor air quality (IAQ) and poor ventilation leading to condensation, mould, and damp.

Mitsubishi Electric has announced that its environmental efforts related to supply chains have earned the company selection to the 2020 “Supplier engagement leader board,” the CDP’s Supplier Engagement programme’s highest ranking. The CDP is an international non-governmental organisation that supports environmental disclosure. This is the fourth year in which Mitsubishi Electric has earned a top ranking for excellent actions and strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and climate-change risk throughout its supply chain.

Mitsubishi Electric has launched an R32 version of its popular e-series chillers, available in 150kW and 180kW units. The e-series allows up to six units to be connected together to provide a total system capacity of up to 1080kW. The new modular chiller is available in both cooling only and heat pump variations and comes with a five-year warranty.

Bespoke design and air conditioning supplier, PACAIR has expanded its range of services with the addition of a specialist applied project team, which will assist customers looking to capitalise on the many opportunities behind the legislative drive towards zero carbon. Formerly a Mitsubishi Electric Value-Added Reseller (VAR), PACAIR has been elevated to Applied Project Specialist (APS) from the beginning of 2021. As an APS, PACAIR is now able to assist customers with the application of ventilation, heating, commercial and domestic heat pumps, heating-only chillers and other applied products in addition to the full range of air conditioning systems.

SAV Systems has over 20 years of experience in delivering sustainable solutions and has used its Scandinavian roots to promote what it terms ‘Nordic synergi’, where working together in partnership and collaboration, helps build relationships and solutions that deliver for customers. The Surrey-based company operates out of four regional offices, in Woking, Bath, Manchester and Edinburgh, to provide cover to the whole of the country and seeks to continuously challenge the industry to find ways that improve indoor environment standards, whilst minimising energy wastage.

Mitsubishi Electric has launched a new, R32 Air Curtain which is designed to improve energy efficiency and minimise heat loss from a building while allowing businesses to benefit from an open door policy. As the first manufacturer in the UK to launch an R32 Air Curtain, the new Mr Slim HP DX 2.0 Air Curtain completes the R32 offering across splits indoor units and allows customers to move to one sole refrigerant on site.

Toshiba Carrier Corporation has announced the establishment of a new manufacturing subsidiary in Gniezno, a mid-western city of Poland. The heating, ventilating and air-conditioning (HVAC) joint venture between Toshiba Corporation and Carrier Corporation will invest approximately 3.0 billion Japanese yen in this subsidiary to enhance its business foundation and presence in Europe. The new manufacturing subsidiary is scheduled to start operations before the end of 2020.

It would seem that Glen Dimplex Heating & Ventilation’s (GDHV) commitment to helping installers stay informed knows no bounds, as the business’ two new state-of-the-art training vans have already clocked up almost 30,000 miles since May 2019. Earlier this year the industry leader invested significantly in launching two new liveried vans, full of training equipment, in a bid to provide tailored, expert training to installers all over the country – as and when they need it.

The M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool is now able to deliver energy efficient cooling to audiences of up to 11,000 thanks to the installation of 46 e-Series modular chillers. In December 2017, the Arena’s carpark, where the previous chillers were housed, was devastated by a fire, and the new chiller solution needed to be installed in the limited space on and around the Arena itself.
